Meet the Stylists at Nuevo

Michael Angelo is the owner of Nuevo and has spent over 15 years cultivating expertise in cutting and styling hair. By combining technical knowledge with creativity, he is ready to help his clients create a look that fits their lifestyle, is easily replicable, and makes them feel confident and beautiful. Michael Angelo believes that expertise takes consistent effort, and so Nuevo is a salon at the forefront of fashion trends but with a firm grounding in classic, timeless style. He collaborates deeply with each client to give them their unique look. Michael Angelo’s genuine love of hair has driven him to create a comfortable, welcoming, and creative environment for clients, stylists, and the community. 

Jess Placides is a color specialist with more than 12 years of experience behind the chair. She is passionate about balayage and creating multi-dimensional looks. When she’s not transforming hair she keeps busy raising two amazing kids and spending time with loved ones. As the brilliant Maya Angelou said ‘I sustain myself with the love of family.’ Jess also loves exploring ever-changing Seattle, and trying new restaurants, bars, and music venues. If you need a good restaurant recommendation, be sure to ask her when you’re in the chair!

Carson Dangelo has been a stylist in the Seattle area for 16 years. She particularly loves to modernize classic looks, making them fun and wearable for a full and busy life. Carson enjoys helping you find your effortless style whether that be a blunt bob, an edgy shag, or anything in between. She is known for her expertise and creative talent in special occasion styling, especially bridal hair. Building a genuine and trust-filled relationship with clients is always the goal. When not at the salon, she can be found with family trying to live in the moment soaking up all the little things with her two rambunctious little boys.

Mija is relatively new to salon life but has become a vital part of the Nuevo team.  Born in Mexico, she is passionate about cuddles, children, and receiving attention. She believes persistence is the key to achieving your goals. (Her personal goal is to catch a pigeon or a squirrel.) Her favorite treats are freeze-dried minnows.
